Railferry service VARNA (Bulgaria) - ILYICHEVSK (Ukraine) - POTI/BATUMI (Georgia) is the part of Transport Corridor Europe - Caucasus - Asia (TRACECA).

All types of cargoes (railway rolling stock, trucks, and containers) are accepted for transportation in railferry service. The service also allows for transportation of passengers, deck cargo and cars to be carried out. Different types of cargoes including dangerous cargoes are accepted for transportation.

Main advantages of ferry service:

  • Possibility of cargo transportation without any trans-shipment guarantees higher safety and speed of delivery in comparison with traditional shipments;
  • Flexible tariff policy, based on the progressive discount system which takes into consideration the distance of transportation, type of cargo and volumes of transportation;
  • Possibility of complex organization of transportation with payment of the whole route of cargo transportation to a single organization (to one organization / Possibility of complex organization of transportation with a single payment to the organization).

With the purpose of primarily attracting transit cargoes, SC Ukrferry together with company's partners offers several developed transport schemes for cargo shipment from Europe to Transcaucasia and Central Asia.




In May 2001 SC "Ukrferry" launched a new regular Rail / Ro-Ro ferry line ILYICHEVSK (Ukraine) - DERINCE (Turkey).

Various types of cargoes in railway rolling stock, containers and trucks, as well as cars and deck cargoes are accepted for transportation.

Goods in rail rolling stock are delivered to/from Derince from/to the point of destination in CIS countries without any transshipment.

Customers can use our rail-ferry line service for sea shipping, however, they can be provided with full range of forwarding service, if necessary on following directions:

In CIS - Turkey direction:

  • Transportation by railways or trucks from shipper in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus or Baltic states to Ilyichevsk, loading to the vessel, discharging of cargo from rail wagons at the port of Derince with further delivery to the point of destination in Turkey;

    In Turkey - CIS direction:

  • Shipment by trucks from Turkey's manufacturer to the Derince port. Loading at the port of Derince to the railway rolling stock, delivery to Ilyichevsk, discharging of wagons from the vessel in Ilyichevsk, passing all necessary formalities, further delivery of wagons to the final point of destination in CIS countries.




    Since 1998 m/v "Caledonia" has been trading on regular cargo - passenger line ODESSA (Ukraine)- ISTANBUL (Turkey).

    M/v "Caledonia" can accommodate 160 passengers in 2-berth and 4-berth cabins of 1st and 2nd class. If necessary 16 2-berth cabins of 1st class can be used as 3-berth cabins thus increasing the number of the passenger berths up to 177.

    Passengers are provided with full range of services onboard the ship including: excellent 3-time meal in a restaurant (88 seats), a video bar/ a bar that allows for video demonstration, a discotheque, evening musical entertainment in restaurant. Two open decks for sun-bathing.

    Satellite phone and telex communication system is installed on board the vessel. For business negotiations passengers can use special Owner's lounge. The ship has spacious cargo/Ro-Ro deck and hence it is possible to transport Ro-Ro cargoes (up to 50 cars, cargoes in pallets, general cargoes - bags, boxes, reels, etc). A wide ramp allows organizing prompt and convenient loading/reloading of the cargoes.

    Mini - cruises, presentations, seminars, festivals, receptions and other events can be organized onboard m/v "Caledonia".
